How to Lose Weight in a Week
You, my friend, are in trouble. Your body says fat even when you say slim. Your clothes say slim, your mind says slim, but your backside says no. And unless you can find out how to lose weight in a week, you may have to face that date feeling awkwardly wide and slightly amorphous. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but controlling what that eye sees certainly couldn’t hurt, right?
It’s time for some fast changes. Your body is a delicate combination of interdependent systems and, though you may not be too pleased with it right now, what it does to keep you alive is nothing short of magnificent. You can control what goes into your body and how it is used, even though it does not seem that way at the moment. It is time to take responsibility for your intake in a hurry.
There are diet pills out there that can help your body to not absorb fat, or can speed up your metabolism with harsh chemicals; however, a great majority of these miracle diet pills are simply diuretics or stimulants or both. Besides, do diet pills really work in the first place? You could achieve the same effect by drinking a cup of black coffee before you work out every day. All of them are meant to be taken while also dieting and exercising, so who knows whether the pills are the cause of the weight loss, or if it is the diet and exercise. I personally believe the latter. A solid routine of healthy living can drop weight in a hurry.
First, plan your week and your weekly nutrition. You will need to get eight hours of sleep to allow your body to function the most efficiently. Turn off your phone before you go to sleep, and wake up to some soothing music instead of the mechanical buzzer built into your alarm clock. Eat a low-fat, low-carb breakfast, and have regular times set aside for both lunch and dinner. These should happen at about the same time every day, to assure your body that it’s okay to speed up the metabolism, because more food will appear regularly. When you snack, snack on fruit or vegetables like celery, which actually takes more calories to digest than it brings into your body. Increase your calcium intake without increasing your fat; drink skim or 1% fat milk, eat low-fat yogurt, and avoid cheeses. Calcium can help to regulate your weight naturally, and if nothing else, it will help build healthier, age-resistant bones. If you are lactose intolerant, consider calcium supplements in the form of antacids.
Next, plan your exercise; for quick weight loss, cardio work outs are best. Get your heart rate moving with some aerobics, jogging, skipping rope, or fast bicycling. Make sure your heart rate steps up to about 130 beats per minute; even better, try for 145 bpm. It may be a little uncomfortable at first, but as your cardiovascular system improves, so improves the rest of your body. The stronger circulation will bring oxygen to your extremities and carry cellular waste away faster, and your body will process fatty tissue faster. Processed fatty tissue means weight loss and better energy to help you stick to your exercise plan all week.
Beware of losing water weight (this is definitely one of the worst ways to lose weight); water is essential for your body to process fat and eliminate wastes. Some products encourage your body to sweat as you work out, which could result in an immediate loss of one or two pounds, but will only cause a net weight gain later as your body becomes unable to properly eliminate excess fats from your food. As a result, you get less healthy and could gain weight. Not helpful!
But even with good choices in food, regular exercise, and lowered stress on your system, you could have trouble losing weight in such a short time period. The above tips will certainly drop a few pounds, but if your goal is ten pounds or more, you are in trouble. Losing ten pounds in one week is not safe, let alone healthy. Some products claim they can help you lose ten pounds in a week. Beware of these. As your doctor will tell you, such extreme weight loss, even if possible, puts you at a high risk of heart trouble, high blood pressure as a result of stress, and even can shut down vital organs due to shock to the system. What’s the point of being skinny if you’re in the hospital because of it? If you need to lose the weight to save your life, your doctor can design an emergency weight loss plan around your specific physiology. But aside from extreme situations such as those, you already know how to lose weight in a week. Always remember when you seek to lose weight, your health should be your primary consideration. Good luck!
